Alan was extremely understanding and helped me kick some bad habits.
We also covered some basic tips and tricks that assisted me in passing the test; and he taught me some of the pitfalls to watch out for.
After just a couple of lessons I was able to pass the practical driving test with confidence that I knew the Queensland road rules.

I was having lessons with Alan for almost 4 months. I had some driving experience in the past but I began to dislike the way they were teaching me to drive. I put off trying to get my licence again for about 2 years, but then I got motivated once again and thought I would give driving another go, but with a new instructor. I searched the web and found Absolute. Alan got in touch with me and we booked our first lesson together. From the first lesson I knew that I would stick with driving this time. Alan is very patient and understands that driving with a new student takes time and effort from both of us to become a competent and confident driver. Alan had more faith in me than I had in myself – he really knows how to make you feel like you can do the things he asks you. There were times when I wanted to give up, but I had already come so far, and I knew that Alan wouldn’t let me give up – because we had both put in a lot of work just to give up! Because of Alan and his patience and time with me I passed my licence test first time which is something I didn’t think I could do, but it all happened for me – thanks to Alan. Alan has a way of making you feel as though you can do anything and he really believes in you. From now on, I will recommend Absolute to other people who want driving lessons, because when you put in the time and effort, as we did, anything is possible! I took lessons with Alan from Absolute for 3 months. The lessons were fun but informative. As an Asian student, my English was not 100%, but Alan spoke clearly, slowly and was easy to understand. I had been taking lessons with Alan at Absolute since February 2007. I had previously been with another school but was not pleased with the way they taught me. Alan made learning how to drive so much fun and easy, he made directions very clear and taught me everything to know about driving. My daughter Jess was very nervous about learning to drive but Alan made her feel very at ease and instilled confidence in her. My main concern as a mother was her safety when driving a vehicle but Alan has the safety of his students in mind at all times and makes sure they are very aware of the road safety before they go for their licence. Jess was very happy with the experience of learning to drive and now that she has her licence she is very confident on the road. I am happy to recommend Alan as an instructor.

Thanks to Al, I can now drive Army trucks ! I have been an auto driver for the past 10 years….I got my licence the day I turned 17, as I could not wait to have the independence of driving my own car. I joined The Australian Army when I turned 25, as I wanted a new challenge. Part of this challenge included learning to drive a variety of Army vehicles. To reach my goal of being an Army driver I needed to get my manual licence. This is how I came to meet Al, my driving instructor. It took less lessons than I thought to become competent and confident behind the wheel of a manual car.
